Watch senior Trevor Cooney play this Friday against Lehigh University.

With one more weekend until Thanksgiving break, now is the perfect time to get out and explore Syracuse University and the community. Pulp’s plans include playing broomball with Orange After Dark and watching basketball take on their first regular-season opponent.

Orange After Dark

This weekend, Orange After Dark is offering two events for students. Thursday night, get off campus and head to Dave & Buster’s at Destiny USA. For $3, OAD will provide each student with a $20 power card, free food and drinks. It’s the perfect opportunity to take your stress out on friendly competition, so hopefully you got your tickets because they are sold out. If you didn’t, though, OAD will also be hosting broomball games in Tennity Ice Pavilion. Admission is free and so is the hot chocolate, so if you want to just watch some casual sports there’s a spot for you, too. Make sure to bring your SUID, though.

Bo Burnham

The 25-year-old comedian will bring his music and laughter to the Oncenter this Saturday on his “Make Happy” tour. Burnham is known for his comedic and witty songs, which made him YouTube-famous in 2007. Since then, he has become the youngest comedian to film a special with Comedy Central and preceded this tour with one titled “what.” Tickets to the show are $37.50 and can still be purchased on Ticketmaster.

Syracuse Orange

In a big weekend for SU sports, both the football and basketball teams are  competing. On Friday, basketball starts up the regular season with a game against Lehigh University. The Orange won both of its exhibition games against LeMoyne and Florida Southern, but the team is not ranked highly among the ACC division. Tip-off is at 7 p.m., but before you go brush up on The Daily Orange’s coverage of the team here. On Saturday, the football team hosts No. 1 Clemson in the Carrier Dome, with kickoff at 3:30 p.m. Learn more about the game and how the Orange are doing this season here.

UNICEF Snowflake Ball

UNICEF at SU is hosting its first Snowflake Ball on Sunday evening. The event is to raise awareness and funds for the children of Syria who have been affected by the ongoing war in their country. All proceeds will go to the main branch of UNICEF, which is working to provide basic needs for displaced children. The dress code is formal attire and there will be performers and a dinner for those with floor tickets. Balcony tickets are $5 and still available at the Schine Box Office.

Shakespeare Improv Weekend

This three-night event will feature local actors improving characters from Shakespeare plays. On Friday night, the weekend will kick of with the reading of a PBS documentary about Shakespeare and refreshments. Teams from two acting companies, the Syracuse Shakespeare Festival and Open Hand Theatre, will compete through improv games on Saturday and Sunday nights. Both evenings, two judges and an audience member will deem one of the teams the winner.
