Syracuse is back in the Associated Press Top 25 — at No. 23 — for the first time since Dec. 7. The Orange (20-6, 10-3 Atlantic Coast) has won six games in a row and is coming off a two-win week in which it beat Virginia, 91-57, and North Carolina State, 55-52, on the road.
SU’s biggest win during the six-game streak came at No. 16 Miami on Feb. 1. Syracuse put in the go-ahead bucket with 45 seconds left to upset the Hurricanes, 57-51.
The Orange had ranked as high as No. 20 early in the season, but dropped off after a blowout loss to then-No. 5 Mayland on Dec. 2.
Syracuse will host No. 10 Florida State (21-4, 11-1) on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
