No. 11 Syracuse downed Loyola, 16-11, Wednesday evening at Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore, Maryland. The Orange (10-4, 3-1 Atlantic Coast) led the Greyhounds (5-8, 4-0 Patriot) in nearly every statistical category and relied on a strong second half to overcome an equal first half.

SU and Loyola entered halftime tied — five goals apiece. Riley Donahue had two goals in the first half for the Orange, while five different Greyhounds found their way into the scoring column.

The second half was all Syracuse. As the Orange piled on the goals, the SU defense held strong behind. SU carried a slim 10-9 lead with under 15 minutes remaining but scored six goals in the final 13 minutes — and three unanswered in the final four minutes — to take the win.

Kady Glynn took the loss in the net for the Greyhounds, allowing all 16 SU goals. She saved nine. Attack Cami Whiteford led all Loyola scorers with three goals on five shots.

Donahue tallied three goals, ripping six shots in the contest and finding the back of the net on half of them. Alie Jimerson and Emily Hawryschuk had three goals apiece off the bench for the Orange and midfielder Mary Rahal backed up the trio with two goals of her own.

Asa Goldstock held her own in the net, allowing 11 goals and notching five saves in her 10th win of the season. Still, it was yet another sub-40 percent showing from the freshman, who has yet to show consistency.

The Orange will return home for the first time in three games on Sunday, when it makes a rare trip to the SU Soccer Stadium to meet the No. 15 Virginia Tech Hokies at 1 p.m.
